The Mary Mac Show | Bereaved Mothers Podcast Series | Death of an Infant

Bereaved Mothers Podcast Series

In Episode 178, we continue our Bereaved Mothers Podcast Series featuring Lisa of New Berlin, Wisconsin who experienced the loss of her daughter Ari Harper who died in her arms just shy of 10 hours.

Lisa and her husband, Brandon and young son, Chase were excited about a new little girl who would grace their life. Chase was looking forward to becoming a big brother and Lisa and Brandon were grateful to welcome a new child into their family.

Yet genetic testing changed their happiness to sorrow.

And while there were no family history of any issues, one unexpected day Lisa received a call with the results of her tests that their little girl had trisomy 13.

In this episode, Lisa bravely describes life before pregnancy with Ari Harper, during and that fateful day of her birth and death.

And she shares how helping others has done so much for her healing.

Lisa and her co-founder, Christine Boehm, have developed Bereaved Together, Inc., a non-profit to help bereaved mothers, spouses and grieving children. Each first Sunday of May, she celebrates Bereaved Mothers Day with moms in person and virtually who get together to honor their children and also themselves.

To be a part of this wonderful Brunch and Conference on Sunday, May 7th from 10am to 4pm, visit www.bereavedtogether.org to purchase your ticket asap.

Additional Notes – Some things that will help along this journey to ease the pain:

If you are having an especially difficult time emotionally, I recommend you speak with a specialist at a hotline near you. Here you will find hotlines all around the world. Trained counselors are there to listen, free of charge, to what’s going on with you. Take advantage of their great kindness. Vent with an objective individual. You don’t have to be ‘suicidal’ to call them, but if you are, that’s the best place to call. Don’t hestitate!

For parents and teens, there is an amazing resource where you can email or text counselors for help at The Boys Town National Hotline! Outstanding assistance for your children and you. You can also dial 988 for assistance.

Visit Julie’s EFT episodes on grief and she will teach you the Emotional Freedom Technique. Her videos calm your spirit and help you release emotional and physical pain as you move forward.

Here are some meditation music to help you rest.

You can order your Bach’s Rescue Remedy from most health food stores, either in person or online. Remember, these do have alcohol in them.

I use the Rescue Remedy 20ml drops but they have spray and other versions which might work better for you. And…they also have products to calm pets, too.

*To find a homeopathic doctor, visit here or here. Many offer phone consultations if you cannot find one in your area. They work with patients around the globe. You can also research in your area of the world.
