The Mary Mac Show | Helping Children and Teens To Manage Stress

The Mary Mac Show Podcast

In Episode 74, we discuss the anxiety and stress our children and teens can face after a loved one’s death and how to help them deal with their difficulties and challenges.

Often times we think that children and teens do not have the same level of stress and anxiety as adults do in their grieving process.

But this is not the case.

Children and teens need to be attended to and supported while they are going through their own grieving process since, usually, they don’t understand what is going on with their emotional and physical challenges since the person has died.

It is important for adults to spend more time with their children and even young adults because it may be the first time they have experience a death and they need our love and attention.

Young children don’t have the language skills to describe what they are feeling and teens, often, don’t want to express themselves.

Listen in to Episode 74 to learn more about how children and teens deal with stress and how you can assist them during this very painful and perplexing time in their lives.

The Mary Mac Show | Dealing with Guilt after a Sudden Death

The Mary Mac Show Podcast

In Episode 68, we discuss the guilt we may feel when someone we love has died suddenly and how we can help ourselves release this pain.

Sudden death leaves us in shock and despair.

We never thought they would die when we least expected it or in the manner they did.

It may have been an medical event, like a heart attack, stroke, aneurysm.

It may have been an accident, like a car accident, dying in a plane crash, falling from the roof, hit by a car or other such dramatic loss.

It may have been horrific as in the case of murder or suicide.

Or it may have been a military, law enforcement, firefighter, EMT or other first responder death.

However your loved one died, a sudden death leaves us overwhelmed and unable to believe when, where and how they died.

In this episode, we talk about the ways we can help ourselves after someone we love has died suddenly.

Bless you, my friend. My warrior!

xoxo

The Mary Mac Show | Thinking the Unthinkable

The Mary Mac Show Podcast

In Episode 65, we venture into the dark places we sometimes find ourselves after a loved one’s death and look at ways to climb out of that pit toward a better place in life.

I’ve been noticing how often people on social media speak directly or indirectly about taking their own lives because the pain of not having their loved one with them is too unbearable.

There is no doubt that when we have experienced the death of a significant person in our life, our grieving process can be overwhelming, painful in spirit and body, and often times we are left wondering how we are going to live without them.

There are times when deep depression and isolation creeps in and we’d rather not be here.

I understand. I have lived that too.

In this episode I speak very candidly about what we go through when we are in that black hole and feel like we can’t get out.

And I give several suggestions as to what helped me, which I hope will help you also.

Winston Churchill once said “Never, Never, Never Give Up” and while you might think you want to, we’re here to talk about that and help you rise up to start to see something better and to give you the confidence to move forward again.

Bless you, my friend, my warrior!

xoxo

The Mary Mac Show | The Gift of Love

The Mary Mac Show Podcast

This week, on my podcast, we speak about the gift of love – both giving and receiving.

After the death of a loved one, we spend a great deal of time loving others who are bereft and trying to make their world more whole even though it might be crumbling around them.

But what we tend to do is neglect ourselves.

We don’t give ourselves the love we need.

We are so busy “doing” that we forget to just “be” for our own good.

Join me in listening in to Episode 38 to take a look at the gift of love.

Additional Notes:
