Preparing For An Uncertain Future | The Mary Mac Show

The Mary Mac Show Podcast

In Episode 148, we discuss the uncertainties in our world, inflation, home and food prices, unstable governments, and how we must reevaluate what is important to us and how to cope when we have little control over our new world.

The world we once knew is no longer available to us.

We will never see the way we lived in 2019 again.

And you might be feeling overwhelmed and upset that we have to deal with all this when we are also grieving for that special person in our lives.

It’s just so unfair.

But we can no longer act like this is not happening.

People who hold the power in governments have created these scenarios, mostly for their own gain and benefit.

They weren’t interested in helping their citizens have a better life.

Instead they have an agenda they wish to see played out and it’s hurting all of us.

And we’ll see get even worse in the months to come.

In Episode 148, I want to help you better understand what is upon us and consider ways to help you become stronger in mind, body, spirit and knowledge.

Bless you, my Warrior!

Using Prayer to Gain Peace | The Mary Mac Show

The Mary Mac Show Podcast

In Episode 147, we discuss the power of prayer in our lives after we’ve experienced the death of a loved one and how it can give us peace as we move through our grieving process.

Now you may be thinking “really…will this work?”

Well if you’ve never used prayer to bring you peace, especially when you feel like all hell is breaking loose around you, then I’d say “Yes…give it a try. You have nothing to lose.”

Now in this day and age, many think that it’s not necessary or ‘cool’ to attend church on Sundays, or watch an online service wherever you are.

It can be as easy as clicking a few buttons on your television remote and you can tap into almost any service you’d like to try.

Not all pastors or leaders may resonate with you; so find another.

But the significance of prayer itself is that it is a way of communicating, talking to God one on one.

It’s a conversation.

It’s a relationship.

And you can do it anywhere you are.

When you are in such pain, either because you’re missing the one you love, or because you need direction in life since they died, or because you are confused as to why all of this is happening, wouldn’t it be calming to speak with the creator of the universe?

Now your family and friends may be think it’s a waste of time.

But you aren’t them.

You need comfort and a sense of calm in your life and that can come from a relationship with God.

He’s right there for you…you only need to reach out.

So take time today to listen in to Episode 147.

You might wonder if you’ll get anything out of it.

But I believe rebuilding or developing a prayer life will help you tremendously with your grief and with the uncertainties of life.

And yes you might be wrestling with your anger at God for what you think He did or didn’t do when your loved one died or was killed.

But flipping that around to gaining his peace, the peace that passes all understanding, is by far more comforting than handling all your emotions alone.

One of my favorite songs is “What a Beautiful Name.” I realize this is part of my faith, but it might really soothe you, regardless. When you realize it has 435 million views, it obviously resonates mightily with people around the world!

Bless you my friend.
xoxo

The Mary Mac Show | An Uncertain Future

The Mary Mac Show Podcast

In Episode 145, we consider the impending changes in our world and how they might affect us as we grieve our loved one’s death.

We, unfortunately, don’t have the luxury of sinking into our own grief as we once did.

We are dealing with inflation causing everything to cost more, possible job layoffs, increased demands on our time from family and friends who have not prepared themselves for the future and so much more.

It would be much better if we didn’t have to be exposed to this. Just live our lives with no interference from government.

But that’s not how things are developing around us.

So it’s important to be aware, do a deep dive on your financial, physical, and even spiritual health so you can continue to grow strong and be confident in the future for yourself and your family.

Bless you, my Warrior!

The Mary Mac Show | Handling Our Loved One’s Belongings

The Mary Mac Show Podcast

In Episode 144, we discuss how best to deal with our loved one’s belongings after their death.

This can be one of the most difficult decision-making processes we will go through during our grieving process.

Some people in our circle want us to get rid of their photos soon after the funeral.

Some people tell you it’s necessary to put all their clothes and other things away.

But this is both unwise and unnecessary.

Only you can make these decisions and you need to not allow anyone else decide for you.

It can be comforting to have their ‘stuff’ around to smell, hold, look at, and just be near you.

You might feel better sitting in their favorite chair, wearing their sweater, holding their stuffed animal, maybe their pillow as you sleep.

These decisions are something only you can do.

Don’t let anyone force you into making these decisions too soon.

Listen in to Episode 144 to get a better understanding of the various emotions and challenges you may feel and deal with during your grieving process.

Bless you, my Warrior!

The Mary Mac Show | Trusting Ourself

The Mary Mac Show Podcast

In Episode 143, we discuss how to trust ourself to know what we need throughout the grieving process and not allow others to dictate how we grieve or our timeframe.

In life there will always be people who want you to behave and act in a certain way so they will feel comfortable.

They might expect too much of you.

They might expect that you should go back to the way you were before your loved one died.

They might expect that you’d be over this by now.

But they aren’t you!

Only you know what is going to work for you.

Only you know what feels right for you.

And only you can assess what your journey through the grieving process will be for you.

No one else.

But many people feel it’s their way of helping you by giving unsolicited advice.

But that won’t work for you.

The only thing you need is to consider what works and what doesn’t work for YOU.

No one else.

Listen in to Episode 143 to help you better understand this process.

Listen to that still small voice inside which tells you the better way forward.

And take action based on it.

Bless you, my Warrior!
